Homeowner’s Responsibility for Home Exterior Maintenance
HOMEOWNER’S RESPONSIBILITY FOR HOME EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE
The HOA Code of Regulations requires homeowners to keep their home’s exterior in good condition. Nassau Grove Governance, Rules and Penalties, Rule 17.
Rule 17. Exterior Unit Maintenance.
- Each Unit Owner shall keep the interior and exterior of his Unit and its equipment and appurtenances in good order, condition and repair and in a clean and sanitary condition. By example and not limitation, this includes things such as algae on exterior, painting foundation, painting porch columns, maintenance of unit owner-installed flower beds, siding damage, oil stains on driveway, etc.

Rule 17. Penalty.
- $50.00 fine assessment per month or portion of a month for each occurrence until corrected as directed by the Association.
- Additionally, the Unit Owner may be assessed the cost of repair or maintenance, if such repair and maintenance action is taken by the Association.
Inspection and Enforcement
An annual visual inspection is conducted of each home’s exterior in the community. Homeowners found to be in violation of Rule #17 will receive a letter detailing the issue. If homeowners fail to respond to the warning letter, they may be assessed a fine and/or charged for the cost of repair or maintenance if the HOA must take action to remedy the violation.
Manner of Repair and Replacement
All repairs and replacements shall be substantially similar to the original construction and installation and be of a quality equivalent to the original construction.
